The City of North Miami Beach Police Department is one of the best agencies in the country, and as such, has the most ethical and motivated individuals on our roster. Our application process values an applicant’s integrity, honesty, and duty to serve. The information submitted by the applicant must be 100% factual without omission throughout the hiring/testing process. We will verify the information through various sources, including an extensive background investigation and polygraph examination.
Employees typically accrue 8 hours of vacation leave per month and 8 hours of sick leave per month, receive 13 paid holidays (11 holidays and 2 floating holidays), and 240 hour of Military leave per year. Vacation, sick leave, and holiday provisions are determined by collective bargaining for positions covered by bargaining unit agreements
A defined benefit retirement plan (pension plan). Officers can participate in an eight (8) year Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP)

Employees attending accredited colleges or universities may be eligible for tuition reimbursement. Reimbursement limits may be determined by collective bargaining agreements.
Police Officers, Sergeants, and Police Communications Officers are represented by the International Union of Police Associations, AFL-CIO (IUPA), Local #6005.
Ability to work a 4/10 schedule with 3 days off.
