The Vision

The City of NMB has maintained its status as of Tree City USA for 32 Years and counting. An honor that we proudly embrace. In our efforts to continue to be a tree city, North Miami Beach has not only accepted the responsibility of maintaining Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Right of Ways that pass through our city but also strive to enhance. In partnership with FDOT, we have enhanced State Road 826 or NE 167th/163rd Street in previous years. This year the focus was on State Road 860, Miami Gardens Drive.

Project Scope

The project consists of the installation of 10 species of trees and shrubs along Miami Gardens Drive from NE 6th Avenue to 10th Avenue. Beautiful Medjool Palms welcome you into the City at our east bound entry into the city as well as the I-95 exit. Medians and North side of the roadway have strategically placed native plant expected to flourish in Floridian soil. The southern portion of the street boast over 600 shrubs which will create a barrier for residents from the unrelenting traffic on of this busy thoroughfare. The project ends at 10th Ave with Florida’s well known Sabal Palms.
