The North Miami Beach Police Departments Senior Reassurance Program is one of the many valuable public services provided by our agency. The program promotes peace of mind and a sense of security for the elderly or disabled who enjoy the independence of living alone but have no friends or family members available to check in on them. While participants in the program are generally able to take care of their own day-to-day needs, they also recognize that a medical crisis in or about the home could render them helpless and worsen if their distress goes unnoticed.
Participation on our program allows our personnel to check on their welfare and let them know that they really are not alone. If a Senior Reassurance program participant does not contact our police department each day by 11 a.m., a police officer is dispatched to the participant’s residence for a welfare check.
There is no cost for enrollment in our program. The application process is very basic and simply provides the police department with the information necessary for the police department to contact the participant and also respond and access the enrollee’s property should the need arise and contact. Anyone interested in participating in our program may call the North Miami Beach Police Department at 305-949-5500.
