Administrative Division
The Administrative Division consists of the below Units and/or sections and is under the authority of the Deputy Chief of Police. In some cases, a supervisor may be responsible for one or more units within the division.

Internal Affairs
In order to insure the integrity of the North Miami Beach Police Department, it is necessary to investigate promptly and thoroughly, suspicion or allegations, from whatever source, of misconduct by departmental personnel.

Office of Professional Standards
The Office of Professional Standards is under the direction of the Chief of Police. Its overall purpose is to improve the delivery of law enforcement services by establishing and maintaining standards through its Accreditation Program, and by investigating all complaints of police misconduct and violations of departmental rules and regulation.

Communications Unit
The Communications Unit is staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It is often the first contact that citizens have with our police department.

Community Services
Community Services is comprised of various specialty units and is under the authority of the Section Commander.

Facility Maintenance Unit
The Facility Maintenance Unit maintains, repairs, and enhances all departmental facilities to ensure the best possible environment for all employees and visitors.

Finance Unit
The Finance Unit processes all of the department's financial transactions in an accurate and timely manner.

Information Technology Unit
The Information Technology Unit maintains and develops integrated strategic information systems to support and improve the productivity and effectiveness of all areas of operations in our police department.

Personnel & Training Unit
The Personnel and Training Unit processes both sworn and civilian job applicants for the police department.

Property / Quartermaster Unit
The Property Custodian is responsible for maintaining the chain of custody on all seized property and crime scene evidence ensuring that each item is cataloged and secured until used in a trial, released or destroyed.

Records Unit
The Records Unit compiles, maintains, and disseminates public information.
