Flood Elevation Certificates

The City of North Miami Beach maintains Elevation Certificates for some buildings built or substantially improved in the special flood hazard area (SFHA).

The Elevation Certificate is an important administrative tool of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). It is to be used to:

  • Determine the proper insurance premium rate
  • Provide elevation information necessary to ensure compliance with community floodplain management ordinances
  • Support a request for a Letter of Map Amendment or Revision (LOMA or LOMR-F)

Review the 2019 edition of the FEMA Elevation Certificate and Instructions.
