The Commission on the Status of Women was established under the provisions of Ordinance 79-20 and is comprised of 15 members, each serving two year terms.
The Commission on the Status of Women serves in an advisory capacity to the City Commission, the City administration, and the community with respect to matters pertaining to the status of women, including, but not limited to discrimination against women, employment of women, education of women, and the establishment of day care centers in the community.
