A lobbyist is defined as an individual, corporation, partnership, or other legal entity employed or retained, whether paid or not, by a principal who seeks to encourage the approval, disapproval, adoption repeal, passage, defeat, or modifications of any ordinance, resolution, action or decision of any elected official or City Commissioner.

Business Crime Watch
The North Miami Beach Police Department has started this unique program that includes daily emails to city businesses which are signed up for the program. Participants can receive emails that detail various crimes reported (such as Armed Robbery, Burglary, Auto Burglary and Auto Theft) that may affect their particular business or business area.

Trespass After Warning Program
This program is available only to commercial properties and/or multi-family residential properties within the city limits of North Miami Beach. This program allows the property owner to sign the program affidavit giving authority to all North Miami Beach Police Officers to demand that unauthorized persons leave the property in question or be subject to arrest under Florida State Statute 810.09.
