NMB Water is confident that our water and wastewater services will not be affected by the global Coronavirus pandemic. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has regulations with treatment requirements for public water systems, including NMB Water, that prevent pathogens such as viruses from contaminating drinking water. Coronavirus is a type of virus that is particularly susceptible to disinfection and standard treatment and disinfectant processes are effective. We are taking every precaution and working closely with our State and Federal partners to monitor all on-going developments.
NMB Water is committed to the safety of our customers and will keep everyone informed with updates as needed. We have adapted to the new Government regulations with our own plans and are prepared with the human resources required to handle the situation. In addition, to avoid the risk of exposure in public areas, our Customer Service department is available 24 hours – 7 days a week at 305-662-9283 to assist with account and service inquiries.
The one area that NMB Water requests assistance is with protecting our wastewater system. Since it’s now a familiar fact customers are cleaning more frequently with bleach wipes, plastic gloves and using alternative items other than toilet paper – we are encouraging everyone to throw these items away in the trash and not flush them. These items can cause major clogs that could lead to failures at pump systems, as well as neighborhood sewage spills.
