The bridge crossing Snake Creek Canal on NE 15th Avenue is open, following concerns raised during routine cleaning and maintenance by City workers on Friday, July 16, 2021. During that work on the bridge, between NE 170th and NE 171st Streets, the workers identified potential deficiencies in concrete repairs made in the last several years. To keep residents and the city infrastructure safe, City administration acted immediately to stop all traffic over the bridge.
Engineers promptly examined the bridge and recommended maintenance repairs. Although they said the bridge remains safe for pedestrian traffic and light traffic for vehicles under one ton, in an abundance of caution, City administration had asked that all traffic be redirected.
Repairs have since been completed and the bridge has reopened to vehicular traffic.
