Commander Nichole Camacho moved to the City of North Miami Beach as a small child, and was afforded the opportunity to be a part of the North Miami Beach Police Department after participating in the Citizen’s Police Academy, a voluntary program and interning for several hours a week. 

In January of 2000, Commander Camacho began her public safety career as a Community Service Officer with the North Miami Beach Police Department. In June of 2001, Commander Camacho transferred to the Communications section as a Police Communications Officer. In her capacity as a Police Communications Officer, Commander Camacho also served a Police Communications Training Officer, spending much of her time attending training courses and training new hires.

In September of 2009, Commander Camacho was promoted to Police Communications Supervisor, a position that had not been filled by a civilian employee in over 9 years. While serving as Police Communications Supervisor, Commander Camacho assumed the responsibilities of overseeing three shifts, completing public records requests, compiling various statistical reports, and fulfilling state and federal audit requirements. In addition, Commander Camacho maintained the Police Communications Training Program, and developed a 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator Training Program, that obtained state certification.

In October of 2017, Camacho was promoted to the rank of Police Civilian Commander. This position had not been filled by a female in over two decades.

Commander Camacho received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Education, from Florida Atlantic University in 2003.
